A month head of Narendra Modi's maiden visit to United States (US), the Indian American Community Foundation (IACF) has planned a community reception to welcome him.
The reception which is supposed to take place at the Madison Square Garden on September 28, 2014 will witness 20,000 people in attendance to listen to Narendra Modi's address.
The costs of the event are supposed to be covered with the help of contributions from the general public says the website pmvisit.org which has been specially created for the event. Its main aim is to take suggestions from the people about the event and ask for funds by getting involved in the various aspects of logistics.

Famous mandolin player and musician Uppalapu Srinivas, popularly known as Mandolin Srinivas, died in Chennai on Friday in a private hospital due to illness. He was 45.Born Feb 28, 1969, in Palakolu, Andhra Pradesh, Mr Srinivas as a mandolin player of Carnatic music discipline was a child prodigy.
He was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Chennai some days back due to liver problem and breathed his last Friday morning around 9.30, hospital officials said.As a six-year-old boy, Mr Srinivas would play his father Satyanarayana's mandolin. His brother U. Rajesh is also a noted mandolin player.
A world renowned musician, Mr Srinivas gave his first public performance in 1978 in Andhra Pradesh. Three years later he performed at the Madras Music Season for the Indian Fine Arts Society. He was also the recipient of the prestigious Sangeeta Ratna award.
He rendered performances with Western artist like Michael Brook, John McLaughlin, Nigel Kennedy, Trey Gunn, Michael Nyman and others.
Mr Srinivas also performed with Hindustani classical musicians like Hariprasad Chaurasia and Zakir Hussain

The much awaited audio launch of Shankar’s magnum opus “I” was held at Nehru Indoor Stadium, Chennai on September 15. A.R. Rahman performed all the songs from the film live and was supported by dancers, who did perform wearing the actual costumes and make-up from the film.
Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger launched the audio in the presence of many biggies includingSuperstar Rajinikanth, director Shankar and AR Rahman. Arnold said, he feels great to sit with the great Indian talents like Rajnikanth and Shankar.
Vikram performed live on stage for the song “Ennodu Nee Irundhaal” Amy Jackson.
The Entire show was hosted by Actor Bobby Simha and Singer Chinmayi.
