Aditi Arya was declared
Femina Miss India World 2015 at a star-studded event at the Yash Raj Studios,
Mumbai on 28th March. Aafreen Rachel Vaz walked away with the fbb Femina Miss
India 2015 first runner-up crown, while Vartika Singh was fbb Femina Miss India
2015 second runner-up! The show was hosted by the exuberant Manish Paul and he
was joined by the gorgeous Neha Dhupia for a segment.
Gurgaon girl Aditi Arya, a
research analyst, received the crown from Miss India 2014 Koyal Rana. Aditi
will represent India at Miss World 2015 to be held later this year. She
believes in staying busy with constructive activities and says every woman must
possess grace and compassion. The grand finale boasted an eminent jury of top
names from the field of entertainment and fashion -- Anil Kapoor, John Abraham,
Manisha Koirala, Shilpa Shety, Sonali Bendre, Chitrangada Singh, filmmaker
Feroz Nadiadwala, designer duo Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, and choreographer
Shaimak Davar.
“It was the search for a
platform to get my voice heard, that took me to the Miss India pageant. Though
a different platform altogether, it is one place where you are heard even at
18,” said Arya in an interview to The Hindu. As Arya gets ready to rub
shoulders with beauties from all around the world, here's are some things you
may not have known about the Gurgaon girl.
Aditi Arya is 20 years old.
She
studied at the Scared Heart School in Chandigarh till the eighth standard and
later at Amity International, Delhi.
According to an interview one of her roommates
gave to University Express, Arya has a "warm and welcoming
personality". Her friend also said that Arya is a classic (if slightly
clichéd) example of "beauty with brains".
The young model is
currently working with Ernst and Young in Gurgaon. "Ever since I was a
kid, I have been on a look out for platforms to get my voice heard. Be it
business conferences, debates or street plays, I jumped into them all,"
Arya said in an interview.
Abraham said, "We judge
the personality. It is not just about the looks, it is about the character,
because a Miss India represents our country at Miss World. It is more about
personality, more than just plain looks."
