This Independence Day, Star India is bringing together living legends of Indian film world in a rare appearance aimed at raising funds to rebuild lives of people hit by floods in Uttarakhand. Living legends including Amitabh Bachchan and A.R. Rahman will appear together in public for the first time in the birthplace of Indian cinema. To be telecast tomorrow 12 noon onwards on India’s Independence Day, Saath Hain Hum Uttarakhand’ will have the biggest names performing on stage that include the likes of Aishwarya Rai, Madhuri Dixit, Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, among others. The show’s proceeds like ad revenues and sponsorship will be donated to NGOs working in Uttarakhand. The social media buzz is already in motion thanks to #AllForUttarakhand doing the rounds on Twitter. The hashtag is being promoted on all Star Twitter pages in addition to being displayed on television screens.

The icons will be joined by young turks of the silver screen including Alia Bhatt, Ayushmann Khurana, Prasoon Joshi and Varun Dhawan at Star India’s event -‘Saath Hain Hum Uttarakhand’ - an initiative by the nation’s leading media & entertainment conglomerate to mobilise funds for rehabilitation work in the flood-ravaged Uttarakhand. Besides Bollywood stars, celebrities from TV shows like Diya Aur Baati Hum, Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara, Saraswatichandra, Savdhaan India, Devon Ke Dev Mahadev and India’s Dancing Superstars’ are also associated with this initiative.

The event will be broadcast live on key channels of the Star India network including flagship Star Plus, Star Utsav, Life OK, Channel V and Star Pravah. The end-use of funds will separately be overseen by a body of independent auditors.
