Arrest Warrant Against Preity Zinta | Preity Zinta faces non-bailable arrest warrant
A metropolitan magistrate’s court in Andheri,
Mumbai has issued a non-bailable warrant against Bollywood actress Preity Zinta
in connection with a cheque bouncing case. The case was filed by Abbas
Tyrewala, dialogue writer of the movie ‘Ishkq in Paris’, released last year,
after a cheque of Rs. 18.9 lakh bounced.
Apparently, Abbas was forced to file a
complaint after a cheque of Rs 18.9 lakh issued by Preity wasn’t honoured by
her bank. Ms Zinta’s lawyer Ratneshwar Jha told PTI, “We will move the court to
cancel the warrant or we will move the Bombay High Court and file a writ.” Her
lawyer also confirmed that the actress is currently out of the country. The
court had earlier imposed a fine of Rs. 5000 on Ms Zinta for not appearing at
the hearing. "We will move the court to cancel the warrant or we will move
the Bombay high court and file a writ," Jha added.
