Indian Idol 2 Winner Sandeep Acharya Dies At 29 | Indian Idol 2 Winner Sandeep Dead | Indian Idol 2 Winner Sandeep Passed Away

Sandeep Acharya, 29, second season Indian Idol winner, passes away due to jaundice on Sunday at a Gurgaon hospital. "Yes, Sandeep passed away at the Medanta Hospital. He was suffering from jaundice. We brought him here on Dec ember 10," Akshay Acharya, Sandeep's cousin, said.  "Before that he was admitted to a hospital in Bikaner (Rajasthan). He was there for three days after which we brought him to Delhi," he added.

Soon after winning the second season of singing reality show Indian Idol in 2006, Sandeep Acharya released his first album Mere Saath Saara Jahaan. Born on February 4, 1984, he was a science graduate and the youngest in the family of two sisters and a brother. After Indian Idol success, Acharya had participated in TV show Jalwa Four 2 Ka 1. Sandeep had also won the Best Bollywood Talent award at an event in New Jersey in the US. Sandeep's younger brother was quoted by a leading daily, saying, "Last night, doctors said his condition was under control and he was showing signs of recovery. Anchor-actress Mini Mathur, who hosted Indian Idol 2, was taken aback with the news. She tweeted: "What a sad, premature goodbye to a talented, ambitious, happy boy. RIP Sandeep Acharya."

Even Sony Entertainment Television expressed their sadness over Sandeep's passing.  "A big loss for all of us with the shocking demise of Indian Idol 2 winner Sandeep Acharya. May his soul rest in peace and may God give strength to his family in this extremely difficult time," the channel posted on their Facebook page. Singer Shreya Ghoshal wished the news about his demise to be untrue.

"Just heard about Indian Idol Sandeep Acharya...Shocked. Too young, and a wonderful guy...I still hope this news is untrue," Shreya tweeted.

He is survived by his wife and a one-month-old daughter. His last rights will be performed in Bikaner.
