Roshan's superhero flick 'Krrish 3', which released on Friday (November 1), has
collected a whopping Rs 72 crore in its opening weekend despite the Diwali
fever. Rakesh Roshan's latest directorial venture Krrish 3, the third
installment in the Krrishseries, has got an overwhelming response in India.
Krrish 3 has collected Rs
23.5 crore on Sunday to take its 3-day weekend total to Rs 71.5 crore net. This
includes business from Tamil and Telugu versions, that has contributed around
4.8 crore to the total. The much-hyped movie Krrish 3 was expected to witness a
big jump on the following days. Having garnered mixed talk, the film dipped by
10% on Saturday. Although its business went up on Sunday, it remained lower
when compared to its opening day collection. The film, which released with
Hindi, Tamil, Telugu versions, has collected Rs 72.8 crores nett at the Indian
Box Office in first weekend. The movie
had got mixed reviews from the critics Also, for a film released on 4000+ screens,
Krrish 3 Weekend Collections Day 1 Friday – 25.5 crore, Day 2 Saturday - 22.45
crore , Day 3 Sunday - 23.5 crore and Weekend Total – 71.45 crore.
Director Rakesh Roshan had
initially wanted to release #Krrish3 on Monday (November 4), since business
would be optimum today. Directed and produced by Rakesh Roshan, the superhero
sci-fi drama was made at a budget of about Rs.100-Rs.150 crore. Krrish 3
started on a historic note with 85% occupancy in multiplexes and 100% occupancy
in single screens on Friday. The Hrithik Roshan, Kangna Ranaut andPriyanka
Chopra starrer collected Rs 25.5 crores nett at the Indian Box Office on first
day. With this, the sci-fi film smashed the opening day record of Agneepath,
which was the biggest opener in Hrithik's career with its collection - Rs 23
crores nett.
Director Rakesh Roshan
tweeted, “Rock-steady! That's the only way to describe 'Krrish 3', given that
Saturday was last day of dull pre-Diwali... Historic!"
