superstar Shah Rukh Khan won an Outstanding Contribution to Cinema honour here
at the fifth annual The Asian Awards, where he was seen partying with the likes
of One Direction's former band member Zayn Malik. The event was held at the
Grosvenor House Hotel on Friday. Shah Rukh said he felt "humbled and
honoured" to receive the award.
On
receiving the award, Shahrukh said “I am extremely humbled and honoured to
receive this award. I say this very often that my stardom belongs to most South
East Asians who reside abroad who have made the Indian Cinema and me known
around the world. I congratulate all the winners at the Asian Awards as well.”
“There
is so much talent around Asia and so many achievers, whether is was Dr Amar
Bose, the Hinduja Brothers or Zayn Malik. I am glad to have been a part of such
a wonderful celebration of hard work by people in difference field but similar
passion.” he added.
Legendary
Sri Lankan cricketer, Kumar Sangakarra tweeted “Great night at the Asian
Awards. So many stars including Garry Lineker and Shah Rukh Khan. Among all the
stars at the Asian awards it was obvious that Shah Rukh Khan was the superstar.
Incredible presence and humility.”
Zayn
Malik’s sister Doniya Elisha Malik tweeted “Had the most amazing day of my
life!! Met and kissed Shah Rukh Khan star struck!!”
